Dorothy and the Wizard of Oz
Another Oz post up at Tor.com - this one about Dorothy and the Wizard of Oz.
This post was one of the hardest to write, primarily because this was the first book in the reread that I found myself actually disliking parts of, and/or feeling uncomfortable about. I know, I know. Self-obsessed princesses stealing/trading in beautiful heads and humans transformed into unmoving palace ornaments I'm absolutely fine with. But throw in a trial of a mean kitten and I get all uncomfortable. So sue me for inconsistency.
