marinessLots to blog about right now, but I'll start off by noting that writer Catherynne Valente, aka catvalente, aka World Fantasy Award nominee and Tiptree winner and lots of other things, has finally given into my personal wishes and is writing The Girl Who Circumnavigated Fairyland. But wait! I hear you all saying. I really didn't think you and catvalente were that close, so, um, why is she suddenly writing a book for you? The answer is, alas, that she and her partner have fallen on rough economic times, and this is her way of helping them both out financially, and, not so incidentally, your way of getting a richly crafted story. If you'd prefer something more tangible, there's an auction up as well.
