Georgette Heyer: Powder and Patch

To give you a sense of how out of it I am today, this happened: I looked at my coffee mug, which had a furry grey head over it, and thought, huh. About five minutes later, I went for a sip, thought, huh, I thought I filled the cup? What happened?

Meanwhile a very delighted grey cat has been in a marvelous mood all morning. It took me, meanwhile, another five minutes to make the connection and a second mug of coffee. Also apparently I keep saying "meanwhile."
