So quite a few fans seem to think that in the Jacob/Smokey war that Jacob is the good guy, since Smokey is a mean, mean monster who scoops people up in his smokey form and smashes them into walls. I admit, something can be said for this viewpoint.
But on the other hand, these same fans seem to forget that Jacob is the leader of the group that thought that kidnapping, mentally and physically torturing two separate groups of airplane crash survivors was just an awesome idea, not to mention not exactly keeping them fed despite ample food supplies over at the Dharma barracks, not to mention that Jacob is also the guy who assisted in the assassination of Nadia (BAD JACOB!) and helped Kate along in her career of crime and annoyance (thanks, Jacob, really. Couldn't you have aimed your multiple assassins towards her?) not to mention passively allowing Desmond to spend all that time down in the hatch (I feel a song coming on here) not to mention the most recent attempt to kill He Who Has The Arms and The Chest of a God (I mean, of course, Sayid) by poison. Sure, Jacob may give out bewildering guitar cases filled with heavy ankhs (and I still want to know how that got past LAX security without some questions being asked) and say nice things to our adored Hugo, he who few show universe people seem to say nice things to, but that does not exactly make Jacob, you know, good people.
As I mentioned to

But I will also freely admit that much of my love for Smoke Monster right now is coming directly from Terry O'Quinn, who is almost making me reconsider my I-really-don't-want-kids stance just for the chance to bear his children, because, his Smoke Monster? Made of Awesome. Emmys, are you paying attention?
