Ok, never mind if this makes any sense. The important thing is that in my version, KATE GETS SMUSHED. Let's go with this hope!

(On a somewhat more serious note, I have the bad feeling that the show is setting us up for Jack to replace either Jacob or the Smoke Monster, given that most of the candidates are now dead. (We are only left with Jack, Sawyer and Hurley, correct?) Given that Jack is evil and incompetent, I'm going with Jack replacing Jacob, who is also evil and incompetent, but that may be just me. In which case, either Ben or Sawyer becomes the Smoke Monster and Sawyer has a greater need to smush Kate so I'm going with that.)
