Have you ever noticed how nobody ever mentions the kiss from the Witch of the North from the first book?

I know! Even Ruth Plumly Thompson didn't mention it when she finally put the Good Witch of the North into a book.

With that said, I think the Good Witch of the North was just a largely forgotten character by nearly everybody - and post Thompson's book, which is not in the public domain yet, you really can't do anything with the character and stay in canon with the Famous Forty books (if that's your goal) since, well, she's no longer the Good Witch of the North, but what she was transformed into is a still copyrighted character.

Which probably isn't a problem if you're just doing fanfiction on the internet - I really can't imagine the Baum Trust trying to track something like that down, although I've been wrong before - but if you're trying to publish something in book form, a bit more of a problem.
