So how exactly is this going to work?
May. 26th, 2009 05:28 pmIf you haven't heard, the California Supreme Court decided this morning (or afternoon for those of us on the East Coast) that gay marriage is still illegal - but, the 18,000 previously approved gay marriages are still legal. It's similar, I'm guessing, to the long standing tradition in U.S. law of grandfathering in previously existing situations that would now technically be illegal but we agree aren't now since the people were following the law when they either built that house that way or bought an exotic pet or whatever.
But I have to assume it'll be a bit harder here.

On another irritated news note, I hear that apparently having type 1 diabetes is enough to be a "major subject of concern" for a Supreme Court nominee. I'm not going to like this upcoming nomination process at all, I can tell.
