Today's Tor.com post chatters about The Phoenix and the Carpet, where, gasp, Edith Nesbit implied that some cats -- highly aristocratic Persian cats, no less -- behave badly. I just don't feel the same about Nesbit now.

Hee. Yes, various people outside of fandom sent that to me -- mostly people who were around back when we had the chance to meet some of the NHC people and discuss their computer modeling. And then I was saddened to realize that some of the people did not get the William Carlos Williams joke...but that does say something about that particular group of marine biologists and physical oceanographers.

I'm finding it all a lot more interesting and easier to follow now that no one is asking me to do any actual calculations or upload the Navy data :)

Incidentally, that season is why I'm not allowed to predict hurricane seasons anymore. I said after 2004 that there was no way 2005 could be worse. It's safe to say I've rarely been THAT wrong. Wrong, yes, but rarely so extremely wrong :)

Yeah, I also was looking at the Zeta ones that people linked to and found that one.
