Legoland pictures, part one
Jan. 9th, 2012 01:32 pmOk, warning: I dropped my cheap camera early in the day, turning it from cheap to downright awful and frankly refusing to work, and it's incredibly hard to take pictures in full sunlight with my cell phone, which is one of many reasons you are not getting pictures of cute little Lego lion cubs. And also means that this time around, the pictures are not very good.
However:
This first picture is of course for

It's attached to a castle which in turn is attached to a roller coaster that neither of us bothered with, along with several other Lego knights and monsters.
Naturally, medieval times demand Egyptian answers:

(cell phone picture.) King LegoTut. I didn't get a decent picture, but behind this are semi-heiroglyphs showing people carrying Lego bricks to build the pyramids.
The ride inside is pretty hilarious – you shoot at things, and if you hit, skeletons and bats and cute little swinging mice move around. Exactly what this has to do with King Tut is fairly debatable but I did have to laugh at the glowing Lego skeletons. (And no, it's not nearly as well done as the equivalent Disney versions but I still laughed.)

This is part of a safari ride that takes you past various large Lego animals, all of which my camera despised.
My brother wanted to do the wooden roller coaster, so he did that while I found something else to drink. We also stopped in the area where you can make your own little Lego towers and submit them to earthquakes (this is entertaining) and build Lego cars and race them (ditto) and so on. As it turns out top heavy Lego towers will survive a nice gentle shaking and crash everywhere smushing Lego people in a major earthquake. So Now You Know.
Also, Bambi:
:And foxes:

This is getting longer than I expected, so the pictures from my favorite bit, next post.
