Sleeping. Or not.
Feb. 21st, 2010 09:44 amSo last night
tgregoryt fell asleep in front of the TV. Usually, this would not entail much comment, or even a blog post, except that, in the mind of one member of this household, this was an act filled with malice and forethought. A vicious, cruel, spiteful, heartless –
"I'm not waking him up," I hissed back.
YOWL YOWL YOWL STOMP STOMP SCRATCH.
"You have plenty of places to sleep!"
YOWL YOWL STOMP STOMP SCRATCH.
The difficulty was that he had fallen asleep in what is currently the Grey One's favorite spot (she changes favorite spots on an irregular basis), the clearly Absolute Best Spot Anywhere and apparently the only place where she can sleep. As an insomniac, I sympathize. To a point. What I don't get, though, is why the complaints, and the claws, were directed at ME. Was I in her favorite spot? Had I fallen asleep in front of the TV? No, no I had not. In fact, thanks to her insistent pawing, which is considerably more like stomping, I was not sleeping at all.
He, naturally, slept through the entire thing. I, naturally, am a bit cranky.
