Catching up on last night's Fringe
Apr. 30th, 2010 06:33 pm1. Thank you, Ella, for asking the question that's been on all of our minds: what kind of doctor are you anyway?
2. Singing zombies = love. Cow in lab = no love. Cow COVERED IN POLKA DOTS in lab = seriously no love. Kill the cow, show! KILL THE COW!
I think, however, that we can all agree that Olivia needs to wear a fedora more often.
Also, did anyone else think that Olivia and Astrid-er-Esther were just totally about to do it or is my mind just incurably filthy?

Date: 2010-05-02 06:28 pm (UTC)I've never shipped Olivia and Astrid before, and I doubt I'll be starting now, but in this episode, at least, they seemed a more likely fit than Peter and Olivia.
With that said, kudos to the show for having two lead characters who have expressed mutual interest and followed that by pointing out that they have real and genuine and individual reasons (that I can completely buy) for not getting together, followed by an acknowledgement that they seem to only work as a couple in Walter's drug-muddled brain. I won't get upset if Peter and Olivia do eventually pair up (and I assume the show is moving there) but I'm glad that the show isn't just inventing reasons to keep them apart for the UST (not that I see much UST there, but that might be just me), is admitting that they really but really shouldn't start dating now, and allowing the occasional adult discussion about this. This is refreshing. I'm still not shipping them (because, just not seeing any chemistry between the leads even if S claims that no one actually needs chemistry to do Olivia :) ) but, kudos for handling that well.
(I guess I really should have blogged that instead of hiding it in a comment. Maybe once I see what the show does with the rest of the season.)
I want the cow gone, though. Polka dots or no polka dots.
