Counter protesting the protest
Jul. 23rd, 2010 09:18 pmThis has been up all over, but I still think it deserves still more coverage. So, I add.
To sum up, Fred Phelps and the Westboro Baptist Church headed to Comic-Con to protest, you know, all that rockin' gay stuff and idol worshipping there. (Or so I am told. Apparently Angelina Jolie will be making an appearance, so, you know, the idol worshipping stuff is probably not too far off.) It was, you must admit, a plan of near genius, failing to account for one minor, minor, tiny detail:
Cosplayers.
Here's some more video.
(incidentally, some reports are claiming that the church was initially planning to protest Al Gore, couldn't for whatever reason (I sympathize. San Diego can be confusing!) so headed over to protest Comic-Con instead.)
